What Aether collects, why it is used, and where AI and third-party services fit.
What Aether collects
When you create an account, Aether collects your name if you provide it, email address, password authentication data, and session information. Password handling is managed by Supabase Auth.
Inside the product, Aether can store assignments, due dates, priorities, assignment details, completion status, saved chats, chat messages, uploaded files, generated video lessons, lesson progress, settings, and billing-plan state if enabled.
Aether stores onboarding status so returning users are not shown setup again.
Why Aether uses this data
Aether uses data to protect your account, save your workspace, show assignments and lessons, generate responses, remember preferences, debug problems, and prevent abuse.
Chats, lessons, and uploads
Your messages, assignments, screenshots, notes, PDFs, and generated lesson content may be processed to answer questions, plan study sessions, summarize materials, generate lesson scripts, and create narration. Do not upload private information about other people, sensitive school records, or material you do not have permission to use.
AI providers and third-party services
Aether uses services such as Supabase for auth and storage, Gemini for AI responses and lessons, and ElevenLabs or OpenAI where configured for narration. Do not use Aether for information you are not comfortable sending to these providers.
Cookies, local storage, and analytics
Aether uses cookies or similar storage for login sessions and may use localStorage for theme preference, temporary interface state, and product settings. We may use basic analytics or error logging to understand usage, failures, and product quality. We do not show student-facing chat credit counters.
Student and minor users
Aether is built for students, including teenagers. If your local law or school rules require parent, guardian, or school permission, you should get that permission before using Aether. Aether is intended to support learning, not replace teachers, parents, schools, or professional advice.
Accuracy and learning safety
AI responses can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. You should verify important academic information, formulas, citations, dates, and exam answers with trusted class materials or a teacher. Aether does not guarantee grades, exam results, admission outcomes, or homework acceptance.
Retention and deletion
Aether keeps account, assignment, chat, lesson, and settings data while your account is active or as needed to operate the service. You can request deletion of your account or specific data by contacting us. Some records may remain for a limited time where required for security, debugging, abuse prevention, or legal reasons.
Security limits
We use reasonable technical measures and reputable infrastructure providers, but no online service is perfectly secure. Keep your password private, do not reuse passwords, and do not upload highly sensitive personal information.
Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or object to some uses of your personal data. Contact us to make a request. We do not sell personal data or student learning history.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as Aether changes. If the changes are important, we will make them visible in the product or on this page. The jurisdiction and formal legal venue for Aether are not finalized yet.
